ccSCOOP Arts
06-10-10 - 1:22 p.m. - There are very few experiences in anyone's hills as nice as listening to superb music in the most sylvan of settings. To have had the opportunity to hear artists like Alicia de Larrocha, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and Jessye Norman in any venue should be good enough, but to have people of this stature right in the neighborhood, in as intimate a setting as possible, is a gift unto itself. Tannery Pond is a local treasure, because that aforementioned intimacy is not to be taken for granted; it is to be savored.
Flutist Paula Robison, guitarist Romero Lubambo, and percussionist Cyro Baptista have promised us a beautiful evening of Choros, Corinhos (choruses), Bossas & Bach, which translates into classical Brazilian (think Villa Lobos) blended with maybe Jobim and maybe Nascimento, Bach, of course, and some composers you might not be aware of but should be, like Benedito Lacerda. This is a summer breeze of music making not to be missed.
Listen to the trio.
Watch them perform.
